VOICES: How a Falling Star Rose Back to the Sky

How a Falling Star Rose Back to the Sky
Voices: A Young Man and his Creative Journey
Introduction
This was an assignment where we were required tell our own personal lives and experiences, using drawings and other pictures to help put together a story in a video. We had to talk about who we are, what it is we did, where we are at now and where do we see ourselves later on.

Materials
Hardware: Macbook Air, Scanner
Traditional Materials: Pencil, Sketchbook, Sharpie,
Platforms: Behance, Adobe Spark

Creative Process
Audience: The video is aimed towards everyone of all ages.
Purpose: The purpose of this is to show and kind of inspire those who, like me, didn't really care so much and didn't have much of a clue of what they wanted to do in their career at first, until they looked back at something they enjoyed doing as a hobby and try turning that into something big for themselves.
Why this is important: This video is important to me because it's essentially getting me to be a bit more open about myself to others. Normally, I'm not the type of person that shares that much, even in private conversations, so it's nice to do something that makes me a little more expressive.
Audience Reaction: I'm hoping that the audience will be able to understand me, how I lived my life and can relate to how they weren't necessarily sure as to when it came to figuring out their career. I'm hoping this video will also get those to start planning ahead for what they want to do.
Hook: The hook is where I started doing visual art classes in Grade 10 and continued that on all the way up until Grade 12.
Dramatic Elements: I would say the dramatic element were my prior interests before becoming into art (mainly becoming an astronaut), how I wanted to do things that I had no skill, knowledge or experience in.
How and Style: I will tell my story through video in a first person perspective, using pictures of me, my art, as well as illustrations that depict the events mentioned in the video.
Tone: I will be speaking through a calm, but casual tone throughout the video. The type of voice that you'd normally hear in a regular, but good conversation with a person that seems to be going through some stuff. For the dramatic elements, I added a bit of an upbeat tone to try and get the message and feeling across for those who can understand, to create emotion.
Mood: The overall mood is somewhat casual but satisfied and inspirational, but the music gives off a hopeful vibe that motivates you into planning ahead for what it is you want to do.

Production Methods
I first started off drawing various of small, cartoonish illustrations that depicted me and my life experience. I started off using a pencil, then later used a sharpie to highlight everything, so that the drawings would come out clearer. Once that was done, I scanned the illustrations to create good quality images.
Once I finished my illustrations and had them scanned, I added the images into slides, using Adobe Spark to put the video together. I also added in some of my artwork to show what kind of work I've done over the years

Conclusion
Overall, this was a very time consuming project. It got to the point where I had to take naps from time to time to refresh my mind and regain my thoughts and ideas, otherwise I would not be able to regain my energy. At the same time though, it gave me the opportunity to look back at how far I've come and ultimately, it's giving me an idea of where I want to go and how I should plan for what's ahead of me. In the end, I was pretty satisfied with how the video turned out and I hope you, the viewer, enjoyed it.
